Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a disease of the nervous system that causes the sufferer excessive fatigue, cognitive impairment and other varied symptoms. The cause of this disease is unknown and may lead to severe disability that can last months or even years.
Currently there are no FDA-approved prescription medications available for treatment of the specific Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. There are other medications that are used to treat the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome including antidepressants or stimulants. However, there is a better alternative in treating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome without the use of medications that could give unwanted side effects.
Neurofeedback or EEG Biofeedback is used to treat clients who suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Clients experience retraining of brainwave patterns which help to reduce the effects of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Results may vary based on severity of symptoms, other underlying conditions and length of treatment.
